Mask Info

| Process: Each mask is hand cut and sculpted from premium tooling leather. Once the mask has been shaped, it's colored with dye and/or acrylic leather paint. The color is then sealed with a protective top coat, so you needn't worry about the finish fading, chipping or cracking. I use high quality beads, feathers and trim; all embellishments are sewn and glued to ensure durablilty. They have elastic ties (leather ties are available on request) and most are backed with ultrasuede or crushed velvet for maximum comfort. Last, each mask is signed, numbered and dated.
Categories:- One of a Kind masks will not be recreated.
- Limited Edition masks are reserved to 25 masks of that style.
- Open Ended Series are styles that I'll always make available.
Please remember that each mask is individually crafted ~ no two masks (even of the same series) will be identical. That would be boring, right? ;O)
Customizing Your Mask:
Masks are available in a myraid of colors ~ you can get an idea of some of the colors I have on hand by browsing the gallery. If you don't see the color you want, just ask! I can also add embellishments of your choice. (like beadwork, feathers, ribbon, etc.) These options do cost extra... please email me to request "extras" before paying, so that we can adjust the price accordingly. Have an idea for something completely different than what's shown? Send me an email & we'll see if I can actualize your vision. Please don't ask me to re-create another masker's design. As an artist, it's simply unexciting... and, it's unethical.
Care & Repairs:- To clean your mask, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, or use a feather duster.
- I use non-toxic colorants, but please don't leave it where curious kids/pets might be tempted to try and taste it!
- The paint is sealed with a water repellant topcoat, but it's wise to keep it from getting wet. Getting it wet could cause the leather to relax and lose its shape. If this happens, lay your mask over a rounded object, gently press it back into its original shape and let it air dry in a warm place.
- When you're not wearing your mask, it should hang on the wall. Hanging your mask on a single nail will distort the shape over time. In order to preserve the shape, the best way to hang it is by two nails ~ one on each side. You'll want the mask to hang so that it's slightly convex (rather than stretched flat) and hangs as it would when worn.
I stand behind my work, and can usually do repair work at no charge, provided that you pay shipping costs. In cases where the damage is extreme (due to abuse or neglect) I must charge for my time.
